Joe O'Loughlin knows what he's doing when he's called on to talk down a woman from the Clifton Suspension Bridge who is bent on suicide. He's done it many times before. The only problem is, this woman seems more determined to listen to the voices in her head than to Joe. His attempt fails and she plunges to her death. Afterward, he finds himself comforting the woman's teen daughter and becoming more deeply involved in the police investigation, much to his wife's distress.
