Book 2 of The Empyrean -- it is just as good, if not better, than the first book Fourth Wing. Both are quite possibly the best books I've read in the past 5 years.

Exactly what I wanted a book by Stanley Tucci to be like - witty, erudite, kind and fascinating. A quick and very enjoyable read, with several delicious-sounding recipes.
My favourite part takes place during the press tour for Julie & Julia, in France, and involves Stanley, Meryl Streep and an innocuously-named but very distinctiv-tasting sausage called "andouillette"

Not a single page has gone by that I haven't laughed outloud at - this book is witty and silly and goofy and just full of joy and delight. It's Pride & Prejudice meets The Princess Bride with a healthy smattering of Monty Python. The book's cover blurb says it's "delightful bonkers" and I wholeheartedly agree. It is absolutely delightful. I just don't want this book to end (but thankfully, there's a sequel!)

one of the best books I have read in many years - I started it at the start of the pandemic lockdown, and it absolutely soothed my soul. I re-read it when I just need a bit of calm and peace. Dreamy, magical, transporting - I always feel better after I read it.
